    Dear linux guys

Currently i'm developing a product that manage postfix by a web interface.
The product is in experimental mode and need feedbacks in order to consolidate it...
I would like to know if your interested on this project...

screenshots are here : Artica Screenshots
If you just want to see it in prod, just download the vmware based on a debian :Artica In Vmware

The goal of this project is to help integration of all Open Source Mail products within small customer configurations without much technical skills.
It brings postfix a new attractive user interface that combines all features needed to create a full gateway/mail server without being a Linux expert (minimum knowledge required).

Currently, a newbie must know how to install and configure Linux OS, Postfix, Cyrus and an authentication server (ldap) before thinking about security points.

The project name is "Artica" and it's designed to provide a user interface that will install open source products:

    • Postfix,
    • cyrus,
    • ldap,
    • fetchmail,
    • procmail,
    • DnsMasq,
    • bogofilter
    • mailman...

Installation is made without any human interaction on a fresh installed Linux system. Just think about Artica is able to install & configure all software within only 3 minutes when a good technical Linux engineer would spend at least 3 hours for the same job. After installing all these open source products, Artica will also provide a single user interface (web) to configure & manage them.

This product is free and web console is OpenSource...

    It does sound very interesting.
I was looking for different interfaces for LDAP configuration and most of them were not very user friendly. Then again I didn't dig into them dipper due to time constraints on my project in college (ended up doing everything through command line). As a person who studies Windows and Linux administration I get to see both worlds and both have their prons & cons. Linux seems to be lacking good graphical interfaces for a range of server software, but makes up for it with a strong command line. Where Windows seems to be the opposite.

    Good luck with the project.
