I actually Met George Strait one day, when I lived in San Antonio. He is a very small guy, I thought he was at least taller than me, I'm only 5'7.
I can't ever hear Buck Owens name without thinking of that crazy song they used to play on Hee Haw, " Where, Where are you tonight, Why did you leave me hear all alone" LOL.

| (Won't let this get too far off topic but...) George Strait is short? Wow! Never would have thought that! Like you, I had this idea he was a really tall fellow! Despite the fact that he has had more number one country hits than anyone else in the history of country music, he seems to be a real humble and gracious guy. Was that your impression when you met him?

Was that your impression when you met him? | Absolutely, he was very down to earth, easy to talk to and he just seemed like a person that would make a good friend. If you didn't know who he was, I don't think he would be mistaken for a Super Star.
A few other things about George, he wears glasses, He doesn't buy his own Vehicles, they are given to him by local car dealerships. When he speaks, he almost whispers.
