This is a nice desktop, Fedora seems to be improving a lot. Are you actually logged into the Desktop as root? That isn't a very good idea....you're asking for trouble if you are.I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.

Here's mine.
In the "monitor_1" grab there's an ssh terminal connected to my Slackware 10.2 machine that has nothing to speak of really as far as a GUI goes.
I use blackbox when I'm actually in front of it.
But most everything I do on it is just done in console mode whether I'm physically in front of it or remotely.
It's forced discipline because I feel that relying too much on the GUI makes me lazy.
The more I work in console mode, the easier it gets.
If I spoil myself too much with the GUI in Linux, then when I have to work in console mode it starts to feel tedious.
In the "monitor_2" grab I have a Debian "Etch" installation in a virtual machine, nothing fancy as far as the GUI goes because having alot of bells and whistles in a VM seriously decreases performance.
So it's just a minimalist Gnome desktop that I didn't spend much time customizing since there's no point.
The wallpaper is a character created by Kris Kosta during the ZBrush3.1 beta test.
I'm a big fan of high-end 3D artwork, and I like to browse the galleries at CGTalk and use the submissions as wallpapers.
Lots of great stuff there.

Anyway, here's my desktops::
Monitor_1(Apple Cinema 23")
Monitor_2(19" optiquest)
My overall desktop philosophy is that I prefer to have the GUI elements in grayscale.
I don't set my display to grayscale, I just use grayscale themes.
Makes it much easier to judge color in images.
I like smooth industrial lines, which is why I don't use colorful scenic images as wallpaper.
Not that there's anything wrong with colorful wallpaper, most people do prefer that.
I noticed that using more neutral toned colors reduces the amount of strain put on my eyes.
I'm sure I'm not the only one here with this problem.

I'm looking at damn good screenshots here, but I think mine is manageable as well.
Ubuntu, using compiz, but not full capacity because then it's as slow as can be. I use this pc for school, I've got another one which I use to experiment with.

As always, I continue to maintain the good ol' simple, minimalistic, and well organized Gnome desktop:

I've always found the very busy themes, wallpapers, and loads of icons on the desktop and panels to be overly distracting, and not really all that useful.
Edit: oh, and here's a shot of my equally as simple but effective XFCE4 desktop:

2nd Edit: my rather simple KDE4 setup:

@ SinShiva
Very nice!
A little busy for my tastes... but then I'm not a fan of so many widgets and such.
All the same, that's still a helluva a smooth looking screenie!
@ roky
I'm not a big fan of GNOME... but that one looks pretty sweet, man! Very clean. Keep 'em comin'!

thanks xD
and cut me some slack, i'm a minimalist myself.
as far as widgets go, i've got conky, that weather adesklet, tilda under the taskbar (pops into view when you press F1 (customizable)) and the wbar at the bottom. obviously, that's pidgin to the left, i'm using a front-end for mplayer called pymp for my music player (under pidgin), and that chat to the bottom right is a pop-up of the chat on my site, below is the desktop with less of the chaos.

better? xD
