    Linux Envy

    The other night, the wife watched me boot my laptop. I put Fedora 6 on it a while ago, while hers still has Windows ME. She remarked how much faster mine booted, and how good KDE and Xfce looked. Her Windows is giving her problems, it's old. She wants Linux, and we know she can learn it.

    So I've been trying different live CDs and DVDs on her laptop to see what runs fast (and well) on her system, has the applications she needs, and looks good.

    So far, SAM 2007, Sidux 2007.04.05 xmas and Vector 5.8 SOHO are leading.

    I plan on adding memory to her computer and installing Linux on it. I bet she'll like it.
