    Ultra Small Desktops?

Is there a good source for economy priced mini computers?
Shuttle or Mac Mini size machines, but with less fancy h/w
(and thus a smaller price tag). The only catch is that I am
going to need one with 2 network ports (for a firewall box).
Fanless and with a solid state drive would be sweet, but I'm
sure that might cost most -- although might be worth it.

Have you looked at newegg yet to see what they might have?

I wasn't all that impressed with what I was finding.

Zonbu: Good things come in small packages

The desktop from Zonbu would be sweet, if only it
    came with dual network interfaces!

Well, if it's only going to be a firewall box (like in: a dedicated machine with IPCop on it; or similar), then i would rather look for some old PC in a 'classified ad' (i set this in ' because i am from Germany, and i don't know, how common this is elsewhere...), with Hardware like what they require here:

I agree with Ogion. It may not have to network connections, but you can buy another network card for pretty cheap. If you get lucky, you could find a friend or family member who will give you one for free.

You guys are missing my point. I want an ultra small case,
perhaps fanless and with a solid state drive, so it will have
a small footprint, quiet and easy on the power.

If I wanted just -any- computer, I would rummage through
my office and just throw something together. But I do not
want a standard mid tower case system for this project.

If I'm not able to find something good for less than $400,
I will probably just get a Cisco ASA 5505 (since that's what
I'm trying to beat in terms of price and functionality).

see if you cna find an ibm thinkbox theyre pretty small (13 x 12 x 3.5 inches for all) theyre easily accessible to change hardware, although it does have a fan and i dont know what solid state drive is. but it is possibly my favorite type of desktop. only 2 pci slots though, and you should only need 1 for a network card. i mean its not exactly what youre looking for but you can probably pick one up for around $20 bucks if you see one.
