Programing (in Windows)
I was wanting to know if anyone knows if there are platforms used for programing that is opensource but can run in Windows.
Basically I am wanting to write a program that stores a database of information pertaining to what my company does. Currently we use a program that was wrote specifically for us by a group of programmers. Their program runs on the Java 1 platform. It is an atrocious program and very messy and slow.
I want a program that already has a basic user interface but can be changed to add in what we need done. I have done minimal amounts of Java programming myself and I wasn't great at it. If anyone knows a simple programming platform that a simple person like myself could use it would be much appreciated.

Well, I am currently working on something similar, and I am using XAMPP (LAMPP).
Here is what LAMPP is - XAMPP - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mono is also available for Windows. It is an Open Source
implementation of .NETIf we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)
My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.
