    so if i want to have a bunch of livecds to test out, what are the linux os's that i simply MUST try? i already have gentoo ubuntu fedora arx suse. any others i should get?

    In my opinion, Knoppix is the King of Kings among LiveCD's.

    to my understnding, lviecd works ebst as a demo to actually install on your computer right?

    Well, LiveCD's are very slow, this is because your hard drive spins much faster than a CD ROM. But yes, LiveCD's are basically Demos to try before you Install them.

    Well, I think they're all "Good Linux", it's just a matter of what you like and what you need. Knoppix is very good though, it's one of my Favorite LiveCD's.

    That's cool, I wasn't aiming for agreements. It's just an opinion, if you don't like it, don't pay any attention to it.
    The way I see it is this, LiveCd's are demo's, until you install it to the hard drive. Please feel free to respond with your opinion.
