Check out Fedora Unleashed, 2008 Edition, 8th Edition. It might have what you want to know in it.

I have the same book as the one suggested by Ozar (but for Fedora 5) and I'd recommend it anytime. Its well written and has a lot of useful info for beginners and pros. Other docs that may help you are available at the Red Hat and Fedora Project documentation sites.

IMO the best way to learn linux is to have a computer that you dont care about, and use it as a sandbox. you will reinstall linux several (ok MANY) times if you are doing it right (and by right i mean break it, try to fix it, fail, and do it again and again till it works.)

then again, i learn in a wierd way.

It's actually called Fedora 8 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux Bible, but yes it should be a good book for someone starting in Fedora 8.

    suggestion

Can anyone suggest me as a beginner in fedora 8, which book among the two mentioned by ozar in the previous threads can I follow for proper guidance in fedora 8 as a newbier??.

1.fedora 8 and red hat enterprise linux bible by Christopher Negus, or

    2. fedora unleashed, version 8, 2008 edition...

Which one from the above is helpful for a complete newcomer to fedora 8 where everything is mentioned properly and preciously from the beginning to intermediate level.

theyre both good, its just a matter of which you can get your hands on easier, and personally i prefer jumping in and seeing what i can do, then getting confused and askin questions here, often replied to by oar within the hour... (its almost lik his entire life is on the forum) but he didnt see me say that

well i think he spends most of his day on here, and then when he has to sleep and stuff, devils_casper seems to take over. in fact, he answers most of my questions .... but then again i sleep from 8 am to 4 pm .....

but i agree 100%, jumping in head first is one of my favorite ways to learn.
