Not such a far fetched idea.

Bring it down a few notches and you are almost spot on. Interactive documentation could help with the osmosis of info onto the brain. The only problem is that documentation writing is everyones favorite past time. (not).

I've done some work using Macromedia captivate and recently tried out Wink. both are tools that can be used for creating "videos that leave you with some form of knowledge". The idea i think is "monkey see monkey do" . personally I enjoy wading through man files but I think this can be quite intimidating for some. (Windows users .

I know this is a bit less than the scifi idea of subliminal learning but I think it does have a place in making normal learning a bit easier.

Thats my two cents worth.

Why don't you just get hold of Tony Buzan's book on speed reading and read it. Nice and slow. It's quite a useful tool to have if you're working with lots of text, maybe management or sales reports or software specifications. And if you need to keep up with regular news or industry-specific news, newspaper columns are set up to be a helpful size for speed readers. It's not magic, it just uses already-present facilities of the brain to process patterns and derive meaning.

Looks interesting, I think I'll order it when I have time to read it...
It would be a very useful skill to have. And one I'm genuinely jealous
of.
