eBay question! Plz answer asap!! :)
Hi there!
I bought a Playstation 3 on eBay 2-3 days ago. The PayPal payment was marked as completed but the next day, when I checked my account I found out that a complete refund was given from the seller. He sent me an email saying that there was a problem with his PayPal account so he refunded my money and he was asking me to resend the payment to his partner's PayPal account. He told me that he will update eBay with the email that he sent me so I can go through the payment process again with eBay. My question is, Is it possible to do the payment procedures again through eBay? Has anyone else experienced a similar situation??
Thnx in advance.

If he has cancelled the order and provided a full refund ... I'd wait until eBay is updated with the information. You should be able to just place an order again I would think. You could e-mail him back and say you will place the order again on eBay once the details are updated.

Being a cynic, I'd say that it sounds like a scam. The refund gets

Make sure you install Linux on it before it goes...

Definitely a scam. He has completed the eBay transaction by refunding you, and if you send money on now it is a discrete and self contained transaction for which you have made no contract and are offered no protection from PayPal. Either it goes cleanly through the eBay auction or not at all. If you send him money now you will never see that PS3 and won't be easily (read without lawyers) able to get your money back.

Thnx for your answers guys! But you should read my first post a bit more carefully.
the only reason that im still thinking of it, is that the payment procedure will be via eBay. i mean, he will inform eBay about the situation and then the payment will be done via PayPal (and eBay of course), if the eBay agrees. So the question is.. has any1 faced a similar situation?? and if yes what did u do? did eBay agree with that or was there another solution??
Thanx again!

dk524... Have you read through the Rules for Sellers - Overview page? About halfway down the page you'll find the following text:Sounds pretty clear to me. Your seller is in direct contravention of the rules. Certainly not something an honest seller does. He/she either found a local buyer willing to pay more, or you're being scammed vis-á-vis bigtomrodney's scenario. Either way, you would be best served by not giving this lowlife another minute of your time.– Sellers must honor the transaction contract. Sellers cannot fail to deliver an item for which payment was accepted, significantly misrepresent an item by not meeting the terms and item description outlined in the listing, or refuse to accept payment for an item at the end of a successful sale.

Since he refunded my money, i cant consider it as scam. Of course he didnt honor his contract by acting this way. ummm, if the payment is going to be done through ebay then do I not "sign" a new contract?? so, is there a problem that i cant see???

sorry for being so... obsessed, i could say, but it's a respectable amount of MONEY and on the other hand its a PS3!

At the end of the day, the choice is yours. You sends your money
and you takes your chance.
The only way the guy would get my money after that would
be to pry it from my cold dead hands. And even then he'd need
a crowbar.
My advice (if you hadn't gathered by now) is don't do itIf we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)
