Major score for me
I went into Best Buy, and checked their RAM just for the heck of it. Luckily for me, what I needed was on clearance. So my laptop just went from 512 MB to 1 GB for $12.50

I don't think you could beat that on eBay... glad you found a good deal for yourself!

What a fascinating story... Good that you found that though, I went from 1Gb to 2Gb for around $85- 95, but it was top of the line (as far as DDR goes
)
You should have a look at the speed - there could be a reason it was such a good deal

I always enjoy spur-of-the-moment deals like this. I used to love that about Fry's Electronics back in my big PC-gaming days. I'd go by there once a week right after they had their grand opening and they'd have brand new games marked down to something ridiculous (like a $50 game on sale for $10). I racked up for a while there.
Micro Center has things like that from time to time as well. I remember going in there one day when they were clearing out their Linux games done by Loki (great game house, may they rest in peace). I came out of there with Heavy Metal: FAKK 2, Descent 3, Heretic 2, and Myth 2 for like $3.50 a piece. I think that was the trip I also picked up a Gravis Gamepad (the original that looked like a SNES controller) for 99 cents. Micro Center has great bargain bins sometimes.Registered Linux user #270181
