I cannot stick with any one Distro
I truly do think I am emotionally, mentally, and physically incapable of sticking with one distribution. Seriously, when I go to distrowatch.org, I am like a girl in a shoe store! I have to try out everything and leave with something. haha
Timeline of Distro's in SkittleLinux's life:
June 07 - PCLOS 2007 (First experience with Linux after a fight with a buddy that I would never use Linux... haha)
August 07 - Ubuntu 7.04
September 07 - Moved PCLOS 2007 to laptop (dual boot w/ windows)
September 07 - Dream Linux, Sabayon 3.4, Mandriva 2008, OpenSUSE 10.3
October 07 - chose Mandriva 2008 as OS on spare computer (one orig. w/ PCLOS)
November 07 - Kubuntu 7.10
January 08 - Ubuntu 7.10, Linux Mint 4.0, PCLOS 2008 MiniMe
February 08 - BackTrack 2.0 on flashdrive
February 08 - PCLOS 2007 Gnome Edition
February 08 - Ubuntu 7.10 Server on Virt. PC on Windows box
February 08 - Sidux 4.5, Knoppix, Fedora, Gentoo
Current - Spare Desktop Dual-Booting Ubuntu 7.10 and PCLOS 2008 MiniMe. Laptop Dual-Booting WinXP and LinuxMint 4.0 (Gnome and KDE). BackTrack 2.0 on USB drive.
I think I am settling down now because I keep coming back to the same two Distros: PCLOS and Linux Mint. I would have to say they are my two favorites. Phenomenal distros that have given me the least problems and have mass amounts of support.
Mandriva - probably my third favorite but the OpenGL keeps breaking on it after a few weeks of post-install use. But I'm hopeful for 2008.1.
Sabayon - definitely comes next, except the package manage is not very user friendly (at least not for me). 3.5 looks to be amazing!
(K)Ubuntu - rocks! But I agree with the on-going trend that it is a step-down from Mint.
This is not to say that other popular distros are not good. Obviously, Fedora and OpenSUSE have a lot going for them. Even Slackware and Arch are extremely competent, phenomenal distros. But as for me and my house, I will use PCLOS and Mint.
Thanks for reading my ramble!! =D

I have also tried almost every single distro in last one and half year.
I am using Debian Unstable these days and very happy with it. I used Debian Netinstall ( minimal base system ) and then installed necessary packages manually. There isn't a single useless package in my disk and thats the beauty of Debian. You can do the same in a few other distros too.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Hehe, yeah, I started on Linux about 2/2.5 years ago I think, and it's been something like:
Suse 10.0
Debian Sarge
Mandrive 2006
Suse 10.0
Slackware 10.2
Suse 10.1 --> 10.2
Suse 10.0
Fedora (6 I think)
Vector 5.8
Ubuntu Edgy --> Feisty
Slackware 11
Ubuntu Gutsy
DSL 3.2 (?)
Slackware 12
DeLi
Gentoo
Ubuntu Gutsy
DSL 4
Debian Etch
And that's not counting the dual boots, just the main distro I was using.
I ran Debian Etch as a text only system for about a month and a half, no dual boot either. Still searching for that 'perfect' Linux system. Debian comes close, but is a bit of a letdown on stability. Slackware has the edge on speed and stability, but it's package management is awefull... might have another play with Gentoo I think.

I know the feeling. I keep trying different distros. Mostly, I have
been in the Ubuntu family but I am currently trying PCLinuxOS.
I like it but... I can't find anything. All the configuration files seem
to have been moved
If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)
My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

I think many people have the "distro hopping" disease. I have been using Linux since 1999 and I still like to tinker with various distros although these days I am a bit restricted due to other commitments. openSUSE is my main Linux distro, but I also run CentOS, Fedora and FreeBSD on various machines.

That's how PCLOS 2008 MiniMe is. I have that as my primary partition on my Linux Box. I'm in it more than anything. The whole system (minus personal files), including all the programs I want is only 1.1 Gbs. Truly amazing. The only program I did not want was Celtix.
Damn Small Linux is like that, too, I think? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. It's only freaking 50 Mbs!!! upon install!!

CentOS!!! I knew I was forgetting one in my initial post. I haven't actually tried it, but my friend (the one who finally convinced me to get into Linux after our disagreement... hehe), uses it for some of his servers at work and loves it. If I had remembered to do so, I had wanted to put it up there with Fedora as other Distros that are phenomenal, just not in my top favs.

That's exactly how it is for me! Not that I feel there is one out there superior to them all, but the one that is perfect for me! With my latest Mint install on my Laptop, I have created another user account that I use just for tweaking the look and feel. To see if I can be satisfied with say, PCLOS, but still have the look and feel of whatever distro I like the most. I like what I have come up with so far. Had to install KDE to do it, but I got it looking like Sabayon. hehe =D
My quest for the unimaginable distro continues!!
Hell, maybe I'll even try building my own Linux, then install a kde or gnome graphical environment and just tweak it exactly how I want it. So many options!!!! So addicting!!! See the first paragraph of a previous thread of mine....

So I am debating about trying FrugalWare Linux next. Anyone have any experience with it? If so, what were your findings?
