    Adobe Air

BBC NEWS | Technology | Adobe fuses on and offline worlds

Can anyone see much need for Adobe Air? 10 years ago I could have seen a use for it when people were using 56k internet but with a majority of people now on faster internet it won't speed up any processes.

Also with WiFi all over the place and more spots popping up all the time this software seems like it will be obsolete very soon.

You have a point. When I read the release announcement about Adobe Air, I tried to figure out why I would want such an app instead of just going to the website and couldn't find any compelling reason. I will give it a try out of curiosity, but I am still a bit skeptical about its use.
