Please Answer for an English Assignment
I'm doing this for an English assignment.
Just curious.
And if you could write a explanation why you choose what you choose, then that would be appreciated to.
NOTE: This is geared for American Colleges, but if your not American, you can still answer, just let me know that you did not go to an American College."Do or do not...there is no try" -Yoda

I put I don't care/I don't know because I wasn't required by my college to take any english classes

Must be nice. I put "No" because for someone who writes Java software for a living, working on an essay about how the Washington Redskins are perpetuating a racist stereotype (that's seriously the kinds of topics my professor gave us) didn't really help me much.
It also didn't help that although it was supposed to be an open class where we chose our own position, the only way to pass my professor's class was to write the way *he* wanted you to. He didn't care if you were as moderate as Mother Theresa, if he wanted you to write a piece of Communist propaganda, you'd better do it or he'd fail you.
I did have to take a technical writing class, as well as a software engineering class that made us write manuals for things. Those classes were useful.Registered Linux user #270181

I went to college in England and although it was a long time ago the basic problem was as above that you had to write and how it was written the way they wanted you to write, which did not necessarily mean that you learned anything.
I think english as a course is dragged out and certainly in my day they did not teach you the important things for later use in life.
My wife says it was helpful because she enjoyed it, it taught her punctuation, spelling, and notice how and why things are written the way they are.

Have to add drama
No they don't so far I have been unable to add drama to previous ROI reports. People just aren't interested.
Technical writing classes are a good step if you feel like documenting in depth certain projects.

I put 'yes' because, as a teacher, I have to write reports etc. I studied in a British university, but I've also done degrees in France. I found the French system very rigorous but far too theoretical, by the way. But, yeah, at the time you don't see the point of these assignments, but I'm glad I did them now.

My brother (currently an L2 in law school) told me to say 'no', again going with the general concensus of if your teacher likes a different writing style then you did poorly. However, he did say that all of the open-mindedness associated with english classes he got from his philosophy classes.
