    Ubuntu 8.04 LTS "Hardy Heron"

I know it's not due out until the end of next month, but I'm curious if anyone has played with the alphas, and if so what features you think are the best.

I've read about a new Windows-side installer called "Wubi" that will allow MS Windows users to install a dual-boot system inside of their existing NTFS partition and uninstall it using XP's Add/Remove software. This could make trying out Linux a much simpler affair for those uncomfortable with partitions. Personally, I'm excited. What do you all think?

I've never been a fan of the *buntu family, but I think I might have to take a closer look at this one just to check out the 'Wubi'. I think this should make it a lot easier to get folks to try Linux on their PC's at home.

I am using Hardy Heron for last one and half month but didn't check Wubi yet. I will try it today night.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Well I'll be straight onto it when it goes beta. This is going to be the long term support release so I don't see anything too mental going into it but if anything comes out of the early art concepts I'll be very impressed.

That's one thing about Ubuntu, they take a few things and do a good job on them for each release. This time around I hear there'll be a lot of focus on looks.

Wubi - a step before mat

Well, it seems to me that the Linux world is going to give its final strike into Windows' heart. Addicted Windows users can simply try out a Linux as an application, and when they get accustomed to it, they'll shall simply erase their Windows and install a Linux regularly.

Another *untu already. They sure do pump those releases out, too bad there's too much bloat to run them on my home system, sort of like certain other OSes in that way, I guess.

Even Xubuntu is too much for your home system? Are you running a Pentium 1?
