    About these Linux exams...

So, I keep reading about people taking Red Hat exams. I'm not really a redhat user, so if I took one right now, I'd most likely fail. But I'm curious as to how these tests really work. Being able to put that on a resume tells employer, "I'm fairly competent about using a computer."

So, how difficult are these things?

I don't think they would be like studying for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. Geeze, that thing is hellish!

How long would a person study?
And I keep reading about some kind of networking thing.
Could I do this with some basic boxes lying around and cat5+switches+hubs?

An alternative to the Red Hat exams. Apparently, they are tougher
too. I don't actually know. I'm too busy preparing for my Zend
    Certified Engineer exam.

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

From everything I've tread about them, the Red Hat Certifications are pretty tough. They are also very specific in the curriculum. Heavily geared towards Red Hat standards. Nothing at all to do with Debian or source based distros. Personally, I'm studying for the LPI.
