John A says hello
*Another* new member! I'd just like to introduce myself to the community here and get acquainted. My name's John Altenmueller, and my current occupation right now is somewhere in between a software developer, a computer technician, and a system administrator. (Don't ask, it's kind of complicated...)
Throughout the past, I've dabbled with a lot of technologies, such as operating systems (Windows, *nix, Mac), programming (C, C++, C#, objective C -- man, that's a lot of C's!), and lately, PHP and some other web development stuff.
Anyhow, I'm expanding my forum horizons a little; I'm currently a moderator at a large IT discussion forum (I don't know if it's appropriate to mention the name here?), and am a fairly regular member at a few others.
Reading through some of the posts here, this looks like a very healthy and friendly community, and I'm looking forward to participating in it.

I agree with the above. I like this forum because it's very newbie-friendly which I think is extremely important.
