Yeah, but who cares about their eyecandies? Vista is going to be the first product of MS I'll not install on my PC's. And the last OS by MS.

What, are you trying to say that a Compiz Fusion wannabe app for Windows is better than the real thing? NEVER!
(Not that I like either. Simple is actually better in many cases.)

when will people get it? it's not about the GUI it's about how the OS handles memory management and countless other domains... sheesh get over it monolithic kernels will eventually slow down and hang... unlike modular or at least hybrid kernels that allow you to seperate modules so they won't step into each other... get over it dude...

It's not that Windows can give you what Linux can't... It just that people develop more for .NET platform so you get much more applications... Did it ever occur to you that it's not Linux fault, but it's the market effect that's drugging people into believing a WIN32 application is the one and only? Originally Posted by jan1024188
