Which Linux disto is best?
I just came across a useful site to answer that all so often asked question. You enter some details about what you're looking for in a distribution and it gives you a few options.
All though I doubt it's totally accurate it names the distribution I liked.

So I took the test, Imagine my surprise when it recommends Slackware or Gentoo for me. I'd say it's at least a decent distro test.
I guess one of these days, I will try Slack.I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.

It recommended Debian as the top choice for me... I really must
get round to installing it one day soon...
It does seem to be accurateIf we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)
My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

Yeah, that link has been in our Which Distro? Please look here before posting! thread for almost four years now. It's a good test for anyone new to Linux and looking for that first distribution.

I've seen it there on our thread for a while now but never bothered to take it myself. It recommended Kubuntu, Ubuntu, and Debian. Interestingly enough, the distro that I find suits me best right now is Ubuntu, so they were mostly right on.

It recommends Mandriva, Ubuntu, Fedora, and OpenSUSE for me. I've used Ubuntu and OpenSUSE, and like both, so I guess it's pretty accurate.
