I've got Fedora 6 on my old Desktop and laptop. In a couple weeks, we plan to upgrade the memory on the wife's laptop and put an external modem on it. Then I'll install Fedora 8 and get rid of Windows ME
for her.
She got to watching me on my laptop and got a little envious on how much faster Linux was and how good it looked.

Welcome to LinuxForums!

Haven't really spent any time with Fedora, but I'll probably give the Fedora and Mandriva Live CD's a cursory spin next weekend.

Fedora 9 Beta
Well it is a Beta, an the Hardware I'm using is a spare Dell Dimension 8250 with very little RAM, but it's what I expected. The Beta doesn't appear to be as stable as my production Fedora Core 8 servers I have. I'm using them as backup servers, backing up production Solaris Voice System using NFS.
I like the Fedora Live Install, it was quick and easy to get running when I was in a crunch. It's quickly becoming my standard... I'll have to play with Gentoo now that you mentioned it, I haven't had the pleasure yet.
Have a good Weekend.

I forgot, I didn't use the DVD Image, I used the CD .iso images to install. If you're wanting stable, for now, until they are passed the Beta, I don't see a whole lot of changes between 8 and 9.

Fedora was my big "first." I've since fallen in love with Arch Linux, but as far as the premanufactured Linuxes, Fedora is still my favorite.
