    Hi

    Hello there,
I am still running my desktop with MS Vista but have bought a secondhand laptop with the sole intention of exploring the Linux distro, with a view to using this as my main OS in years to come.

As an initial step, I have managed to load up OpenSuse 10.3 on the laptop as a dual boot system. The laptop is also running MS XP Pro on the other partition (I have split the 60Gb HDD roughly 50/50). The hardware is: Intel P4 3.20Ghz; RAM 512Mb; ATI Radeon RS300 5835 and Broadcom BCM 4303 802.11b Wireless LAN.

I am still familiarising myself with all the menus and the many differences with MS. I have no experience of programming language (other than messing about with an old Sinclair Spectrum many moons ago).

I have an initial problem in that the Wireless card does not seem to start at boot and therefore I cannot get online wirelessly with Suse. I shall post my problem in the relevant forum shortly, but any assstance would be welcome.

    Thanks
