    Kickoff or Classic

So the new kickoff menu is supposed to be more functional eh? But I just don't like it. It is probably just my resistance to change, but I do tend to be more efficient with Classic because I have all my development stuff under well . . "Development". But then again I usually just hit ALT+F2 and run my apps from there. . . . Um . . . I still don't like it.

You can still have development tools under development. They will
be in the All Programs tab. Mint has something called tastymenu (linky)
which I like, but I haven't really used kickoff since I was trying out
Mandriva. Suffice it to say I went back to the classic KDE Menu.

So I am going to vote Classic!

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

Classic all the way. There's one thing I have to vent here. I don't like Kickoff. The developers claim it's better because there are less clicks involved.

    WHAT THE HELL?!

Pausing your mouse over a tab/link is the same as a click, and is actually less efficient. The Kickoff menu is slower, more complicated and in terms of user feedback it is more frustrating. I know all sorts of justification has been made for it. I'm a regular reader of dot.kde.org and have seen it all but in my eyes it's eye candy over functionality. And that's from a guy who's been running Compiz/Beryl since day one.

I didn't like it at first, but now that I have used it for several months I actually like like it although I agree with some of the sentiments in this thread.

I like Kickoff as the first distribution I tried out was OpenSUSE which has a similar menu. However I have gotten used to the Classic style now and Kickoff does seem a little long winded.

The kickoff menu (linky) vs the ordinary KDE menu
