Case Stickers
Last night I suddenly became acutely aware that my laptop had two stickers on it just below the keyboard. I had noticed them before, of course, but having seen stickers like this often enough I just blocked it out.
For some reason I noticed them again, and immediately went about the process of removing them. One said "Designed for Microsoft Windows XP', and the other said "Intel Centrino Duo." The first one I wanted to remove for obvious reasons, not the least of which is that I very rarely use XP anymore. The second one didn't bother me, but it was slightly crooked, so I tried to remove it and re-set it straight.
The re-setting procedure didn't quite work as planned (one corner just wouldn't adhere back again) so I'm now left with no stickers on my laptop. Generally I prefer this anyway. I have no bumper stickers on my car either.
However it was brought to my attention when searching for ways to safely remove case stickers (note to self: grow longer nails next time) that there are several possible options should I want to put a new sticker on my laptop. One of which is an "Ubuntu Powered" sticker from System 76, available for the price of two postage stamps.
system76, Inc. - Ubuntu Linux - Community - Free Stickers
If the link takes you to the main site, click on "Community" and "Free Stickers" to get to the offer. Does anyone else know of places (free or otherwise) to get cool case stickers?
I remember in college I received quite a bit of Linux propaganda materials from a place called Linux Mall, but the site was bought by CheapBytes and their Linux swag section seems to be pretty much dead now. I also found out that a LUG in Massachusetts offered (past tense) some very nice foil stickers:

I received my sheet of 4 "Powered by Ubuntu Linux" stickers yesterday. Would have been nice to have a couple more, but my laptop is now properly labeled.

I had three stickers on Leo the laptop, now I have two. I barely notice them, but one did always stand out... the Vista sticker. I ceremoniously scratched that one off the day that I installed Ubuntu Hardy, which also marked the end of my Gutsy/Vista dual-booting days.
Thanks for that link to System 76, Moe!

I have a bunch of aluminium "Powered by Ubuntu" stickers I got through the Australian Ubuntu mailing list. Adds a nice finishing touch to things I think.
There's also a "Made for XP" sticker on the fridge though...
