Hello Form a washed up former Windows and Ubuntu User.
In my thirteen as a user of microcomputers I have ssen a lot of good Operating systems and Software/hardware venders go out of busibess or nerge with one another. IMHO, the worst Operatuing system and Software vender is MIcoroft the makers of Windows XP, A 32 bit extensions to a 16 bit patch to an 8 bit operating system originally coded for a four bit processor written by 3-bit monopolistic software company founded by a .2-bit Harvard Drop out, who can't stand one respectable bit of competition.
My First linux distribution was Ubuntun which i have lovingly nickname Bloatix due to the fact that Conicle has thrown any and evry package under the damn sun.
After three years of dissatisfaction with ubuntu I just switched to Slack ware and i have rediscoverd and fallen in love with IBM compatible comuters.

So what version of slackware....please expand with likes and dislikes

The distribution is called Ubuntu and the company that distributes it is Canonical. I very strongly disagree with your calling it "bloated." It's a single CD distribution. How on earth can you consider that bloated? Slackware doesn't fit on one disc these days. Neither does Debian or Fedora. Expand upon your definition of bloat if you would.

I guess Ubuntu and its children could be considered bloated
because they install a lot by default. Debian may come on 27 DVDs
but a minimal install of Debian is supposedly very minimal indeed. If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)
My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

Ubuntu _might_ compared to Slackware _look_ bloated, depending on your view. For one thing, Ubuntu runs a lot of overhead and services compared to Slackware. Consider the RAM usage of Kubuntu, just to load the base system after a clean install. Compare this to Slack, and you'll find Slack only uses half or perhaps even less.
Slackware on the other hand has a HD footprint of 4.5GB when you do a full install (and Slack begs for a full install). And it doesn't include OOo and hardly any multi media.
That said,
Once you Slack you never go back
Can't tell an OS by it's GUI

I'm sorry, but I simply don't see this at all. Some distributions install two or three web browsers, a dozen text editors, three or four multimedia applications, and a whole host of redundant GUI configuration tools. Ubuntu generally provides one program per task. I don't see that as bloated whatsoever.

I agree with you, I don't think they are bloated, just that in comparison to
some of the lighter weight distributions, they could be considered so.
As someone who just likes to get on with working I actually like that a lot of the
software I would use is installed by default. As someone who runs a development
web / database / mail server, I still have to install a lot of extra stuff.
