I'm with gmail .. i wonder why they still refer gmail as beta? ...yes..In gmail site it's referred as beta...It's working perfectly past few years ...why they are not moving ...

    I'm with gmail ..
    i wonder why they still refer gmail as beta? ...yes..In gmail site it's referred as beta...It's working perfectly past few years ...why they are not moving from beta to a stable state...:drown:

    I use Gmail. I've never had any issues with it. Before that I used a pay service, Mail2World, only because they let me have an email @mail2linux.com. Before that it was my university email. I don't remember what it was before college.

    I would guess it's because they haven't come to a conclusion about a business model for GMail.

    As it stands as 'beta' you use at your own risk and Google can withdraw the service and your content as and when they wish.

    I think it's stable enough. In fact I think the GMail service is one of the best available. If it was out of beta and a commercial service then I think 'd be more comfortable with it. But as I posted earlier, I've seen an acquaintance lose all his GMail, Adsense, Adwords and all of his pics on picasaweb. Too risky for me!
