Smile New to LinuxForums: Just saying HELLO!!!

    Hi Folks:

I am a retired, burnout, rather scary old fellow, looking for a comfortable forum to use as a center for linux questions and information.

I have been using linux for some time now. I have used quit a few distro's including Dabian, Mandriva, and Ubuntu and finally settling on PClinuxOS (PCLOS minime)
just the very basic system which I have remastered into my own personal distro that works the way the way I want it to. Although I have managed to do all of this I am still fairly green to many aspects of linux, I am often in need of help.

Unlike many who have used PClinuxos and been uncomfortable with the PClinusos forum and switched distros entirely, I prefer to stay with the distro ( It is a great distro with a very good selection in the repository and very good support for hardware) and one or the easiest I have found to rework. It is my hope to one day find sections in places such as LinuxForms and maybe Linuxquestions.org for PClinuxOS users.

I am running on AMD 64x2 - Asus MB - Nvidia FX with 256mb
and on a highspeed wireless network

    Hello to all

    JB

    Welcome to the forums JB

Hope you enjoy your time here ... if I can help I will but based on your intro it is more likely to be the other way round.

    Hi Jonathan

Yes I may be of some help in some things but I am sure that you have run into problems I have not and solved them, so that help thing usually goes two ways

When all else fails I ask this old cat that I share this apartment with. (now if I could just get him to pay his share of the rent)

See you around JB ... hopefully we won't need to consult your cat too often.
