I have never trusted dogs. Rightly or wrongly I have have always
had the feeling that it is not if they will attack you but when.

I do love cats however. I have two of my own

a 20 yo Ginger called Greebo
a 2 yo funny coloured fluffy thing called smudge because of his fur

I also have at least two part timers

a tabby who officially lives next door called Tatty
and a unnamed fluffy thing that I suspect might be smudges dad.

We had our tabby for years before we all realised that she was leading a double life. One day my mum went next door to visit the neighbours and found her curled up on a chair. She was getting fed there too, and had been living between the 2 homes for years.

I Love animals period, it doesn't matter what kind/breed. I like dogs more than cats for the simple fact that you can't get a cat to protect you from harm or other animals that like to bite. I used to have an Old English Sheepdog that just loved to kill Opossums and Racoons that got into our back yard. We now have a Jack Russell Terrier and one 13 yr old Son. (he's an Animal I tell ya)

My wife and I have two Tortoise shell Cats. One is a bit of a high strung ***** with a soft side and the other is a rambunctious teenager who just loves people. But we love them both. Now with a baby in the house they are showing their age. One is 12 and the other 10.

I've only ever known 2 dogs in my whole life that I liked. I hate the whole jump at you crazy phase every dog seems to get upon seeing it.

Cats FTW

I was always around a lot of animals growing up. We had 3 dogs, about 12 cats, 200 cows, 12 pigs, 4 goats, yeah I grew up on a farm. As much as I enjoy pets I think it is stupid to have them locked up in an apartment or a house on 1/8 of an acre. I guess cats are ok for that and that's what I'd get if I got really lonely. People in the US spend way too much money on pets.

Dogs are by far much better. Dogs are more active, playful and loyal (IMHO).

I've never had one but will definitely get one in the future.

Cats can be playful. My first cat (the tabby with the double life) used to play hide and seek around the house. I thought all cats were like that, but it was just that one...

You're right about loyalty though. Cats are only as loyal as their stomachs.

All we have right now is a cat named "Cato." She's solid black and gets her name from the old "Pink Panther" movies. We used to have an orange tabby named "Lucy." Poor Lucy would innocently saunter through the house minding her own business, absorbed in other interests. Cato would scheme and find a dark nook or cranny to hide in. Then, just as Lucy would pass... HIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! lol...
