Hi guyz!. Wasim here. new member. I think IK registered bfore ages ago but I lost my details. I am a fairly experienced linux user(10 years since mandrake 8.5) , Yeah I've customised my deskrtop, use evolutuon and sometimes kmail, prefer gnome under mandriva. Currently running kde because i forgot to select gnome. Am agreat believer in using wahtever works. But, for web dev, mp3 ripping, etc i prefer linux. And HOPEFULLY can gbet tv card working better than win xp sp2 with mediaportal.

I found sp2 went backwaRD, no auto detect of sound any more. Linux is my prefernce 70% o0f the time unless i want to play battlefield. Speraking of that any really good fps sites(linux specific?. I tried greatgamesexperiment.com, but could only find one that i could ionstall(most of tyhem had no lik for dowenload. I have mandriva 2007 spring installed. i was gonna go back to 2008 but i couldn't find my dvd. Almost fin9ished downloading 2008 spring. Just wanta sytem that can do mp3, unencrypted dvds, vid encode, and mythtv out of then box(so i hiopoe i can find some distro(although I trd. approve of opensuse mandriva mostly) that has mysql that works out of the box.

I have had a ubuntu phase, it rocked, but it couldn't set up my dsl at my p[lace(Fedora, mandriva, and suse could). Where I am now(mums placwe) i can use ubuntu(I have adsl). (Ethernet" under suse fedora mandriva wizard)

I have settled on either mandriva(50% likelihodd), ubuntu(20% likelihood) or suse(30% likelihood). Although After doing a admin course i can get 95% of waht i want right on either, I would love to use one distro for all the above).

i love mocha kenya coffe(almost any coffee), i love anime, soccer, monty python, and internet(plus obvious;lu linux).

That is a broad look at my interests.

    Waht are yours

    See ya

    Welcome to the forums wazb

Thats quite a list of things for an intro ! You could always test drive a couple of distros if you have the hard drive space. See you around.
