Some of us would argue that life's too short to spend on just one distribution.

I generally have 2 rigs: a test rig (currently number 2) and a production rig (currently number 4). The one gets reformatted as many times as I can find a new distribution to play with. The latter changes only rarely when there's a major upgrade of the OS I have on it.
My production rig recently got upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04, and barring any serious grievances it will probably stay that way until 8.10 or 9.04.
