I couldn't remember at the moment... seems ncurses is included in the install.

It would seem that the new gcc really doesn't wanna work right now... I'm still getting the same error as before. And thanks for the link... I thought I was goofing up on something! I'll give a go with the work around mentioned in the article.

While it looked promising as a work around, I couldn't get the same level of success as posted in the link... so I guess I'll be waiting for the final as well!

If you get a chance, perhaps file a bug report with the maintainers. That would be a great way to help out the CRUX community. The more problems they are made aware of, the better the final will be.

EDIT: I just checked out the Crux IRC channel on Freenode... There are 46 members online right now!!

I got this notification on the bug that I reported:

Please install/update to libgmp#4.2.4-1h.pkg.tar.gz obtainable from Index of /tmp/ and report if that helps to fix the crash.

Still going through the installation of RC1, but this time, make menuconfig went through. Kernel compiling now.

Yeah, I saw that in the RC1 bug report today. That fellow K.Mandla over at Motho ke motho ka botho already tried it too and reported good results.
