anyone tried slax?? i have it on a usb drive and it bootsand loads but wont connect to my wireless server....isit just me doing somthign wrong or is slax useless??...

    I think saying its "useless" is a bit over the top and you haven't provided enough info about the problem for someone to help you. What type of wireless card do you have? Run the command "/sbin/lspci | grep -i net" and post back the output because it will give us an idea of the chipset being used by the card. Does Slax detect the card? If it detects it, what encryption are you using?

    i was just messing with slax on one of my old notebooks. it does not detect my card. ill run that command when i get done with my students today and see whats what...

    I having been using Slax for a while now, my hard drive crashed beyond repair and installed slax live cd in my laptop memory about ( 300MB). I cannot seem to configure my wireless. Regular internet through ethernet connection works great. Other than that Slax is awesome I use a bit torrent that you can add by going to Slax web site. There are many other useful features...
