    Website home page artist needed!!

I have this vision of a picture for the home page of my future website. I do not know the first thing about putting such a picture together. I have paypal but not a lot of money. I do not want to go to some commercial firm that is going to give me the run around or demand that they host my website.

You can send me a private message through LinuxForums if you, or someone you know, can help me with this. Thank You!!

Can anyone draw for my website a flying dragon coming through a spiral wormhole with a screaming Neanderthal or Cro-Magnon image riding the dragon?

Cousinlucky, I think your best bet would be to find some images that you like, one of a Flying dragon, a wormhole and a Neanderthal and use something like the GIMP to combine/overlay them together. Using Gimp isn't all that hard if you just tinker around with it.
I would imagine something like what you want could cost a little bit of money. If you can find the pictures you like, I might be able to help create this image for you.

Or download Inkscape and try drawing it

From what I've seen of Inkscape the learning curve doesn't seem like much and I'm sure with a bit of practice and perhaps with some following of tutorials you'll be able to draw it yourself. I know Bigtomrodney is a big Inkscape fan, maybe he can help you.

    Good luck with it

MikeTbob, I do not want to open myself up for copyright infringement lawsuits by using someone elses images. Besides I do not know the first thing about using the gimp.

Its funny I was thinking about you this morning while I was reading Butler Shaffer's " The Virtue of Starvation ".

I sent you a pesonal message with a link to the article.

    That's an Interesting article.
Thanks for the PM, I was wondering if you were talking about the human stupidity part at the top of that link " The Virtue of Starvation ".

There goes another person " Stuck on Stupid " my dear friend Pamela!!

    MikeTbob,

Unfortunately both statements seem, by the examples arising every single day, to be right on the money.

Cheers netstrider for the confidence vote

Unfortunately I'm still very much on the beginner side of things and not much good with freehand stuff, which would probably be more at home in Gimp than in vectors. I'd be more than happy to make an attempt at text-like banners or something more vector-ish. I'm only looking for reasons to wet my vector feet

It'd be more like this stuff...

I'm pretty handy with wrenches and tools but I'm completely all thumbs with drawing and computers.

Elija has emailed me some great flying dragon photos. ( Many Thanks, Elija ) Those photos have sent my weird old mind on a number of different tangents about my website home page. I still envision primitive humanoids on flying dragons arriving through a spiral wormhole. Does anyone have a Dali Pill??
