Still The Easiest USB Flash Drive OS Install
Puppy still rocks on! Today, just to get a bit of the rust out, I decided to get out an old 2-Gig flash drive, a real clunker by a mega-cheapo brand, a real dog, (excuse the accidental pun). Found that Puppy's actual USB Flash Drive Installer program is still the wonder it was before.
So there on one of the pull-down menus is simply an icon "Flash Drive Install." It was like some kind of vast logic breakthrough they had over there. Meanwhile to see a contrast, go to your own current distro's instructions on how to install on flash drives and be, as it were, lost in the wonder.
Oddly, Puppy just thought that, for some reason, installing to a flash drive did not really need to involve deep human suffering. It was kind of a spiritual revelation. So they just put it right on the pre-packaged menu "Flash Drive Installer." Pretty soon someone is just going to start coming out with software that you just double-click on and watch the software install itself.

I have an old 128MB flash drive that I wanted to put a distro on. I went with Slitaz, because it is crazy-small. I added all the software I wanted, and got rid of some games and paint programs, and now I have firefox, abiword, pidgin, etc... and it still weighs in at under 30MB.
I AM a Puppy fan, but now my USB linux heart belongs to Slitaz.

That Is Very Interesting - I Need To Check It Out
That is a very interesting sounding distro. Now I'll have to go and check it out. I'm always happy when I find out about a whole new distro. Plus, this sounds very exciting that you got it onto and old 128 MB usb flash drive. Thanks for the tip on that.
