I'm not sure ... if the error is from grub it is a file not found error. You should find the CD install straight forward ... I'd wait and go with that.

While your at it burn yourself a copy of Supergrub on CD - you can use it to fix bootloader problems for Windows and Linux.

For CD burn at minimum speed and make sure you select burn image. There is some stuff on the forums here. I guess I was spared the pain of this because I bought my first Linux CD ... and now I have Linux I use k3b which I think is one of the best - I've got Nero I just don't use it.
