Lemme hit that wifi, baby!
As I type, all around me is chaos.

I'm moving this weekend.
But... The new place has a screened in patio just off the main house. A perfect time to set up a wifi access point, right? Yeah, that's what I thought. And as long as I'm doing this, I thought I'd try setting up my desktop rig with wireless as well. I researched wifi NIC's, and the one that seems to work best with multiple distros was the Intel PRO Wireless 2200BG. Problem is, it's a mini-pci card. I could use a PCI-to-mini-PCI adapter, but that seems ungainly. Then I see Linux Emporium has Edimax NIC's in multiple flavors that are designed to be linux-friendly.
Anyone here have any experience with Edimax? Is there a US distributor? Or is there another option I'm missing that might be a better choice?

Hiya questio verum
I have never used an Edimax, but I do know that Atheros cards are usually pretty darn easy to work with.
You can check the Madwifi supported cards and try to get one of those.
Welcome to your new home and Congrats!

Thanks, Mike. I'll check into Atheros when I get back online. I'm about to pull the plug here at the old place, and won't have internet at the new place 'til Thursday. Gulp! Four days without internet. Guess I'll just have to buck up and soldier on.
See you Friday!
