    How Do YOU say Linux?

    I always say Linux

    Seriously

Phoenitically speaking, I personally pronounce Linux: "line" like in the word "line" and "ucks" like in the word "bucks" Line-ucks Linux.

I've heard many people pronounce it "Len" (like in the work Lenght)- "icks" (like in the word "kicks") Len-icks.

My thinking: Linus T......His name would be pronounced like the Charlie Brown "Peanuts" character. phoneitically Line-isssss

    Hmmm, something to think about.

Well, according to a famous soundbyte, Linus Torvalds pronounces it as LEEnooks. But, he's also from Finland.

How to pronounce Linux like Linus Torvalds

I generally pronounce it as Linucks, where LI sounds like "lemon" and Nucks sounds like "ducks."

I have heard several different versions. elija, your phonetic spelling is pretty much what I use. I suppose it's: "you say tomato(Toe-May-toe), I say tomato (Toe-mah-toe)." <singing> "let's call the whole thing off!"

I suppose it would honor the creator to say it as he pronounces. Thanks for that link 'Moe.
