    Greetings!

Howdy, y'all. Just thought I wold intro myself. I have some very limited AIX/Unix experience; writing backup and recovery scripts, and a few jobs to operate the tape library which the backup tapes lived in, working in crontab to schedule said backup scripts, working with SMIT to handle printers and print jobs, and also managing processes and users to some degree (but not as a system administrator). All in all, pretty low-end stuff, and all on legacy systems so the versions were dated.
I am now trying to teach myself Linux. This is a great site, by the way, congrats to all contributors! I was able to conclude that my best option, my resources being what they are, is running a LiveCD version of Ubuntu, and I did not even have to ask a single question because of all the helper links (complete with explanations, which I really liked ALOT) available here. Easy layout, easy to find what I was looking for. Much happiness
I'm diving into the tutorials (so many to choose from!!!), but if anybody has any hints or suggestions that would help me learn Linux faster or better, or contribute to my greater goal, I would love to hear them. My goal is to eventually be a certified system administrator (or at least have that level of knowledge).
    Have a nice day

Welcome! It's good to hear the tutorials are helping. They're usually my first suggestion for reading material, so you're ahead of the curve there. I don't know what I'd suggest next, other than downloading a LiveCD and playing around with it. Post back if you have any questions. Above all, enjoy!
