My name is Major James Salinas, I am an American soldier in peace keeping force in Iraq, I am serving in the military of the 1st Armored Division in Iraq, as you know insurgents everyday and car bombs are attacking us.

We managed to move funds belonging to Saddam Hussein's family. The total amount is US$ 23 Million dollars in cash. We want to move this money to you, so that you may keep our share for us till when we will come over to meet you.We will take 60%, my partner and I.You take 40%. No strings attached, just help us move it out of Iraq, Iraq is a war zone. We plan on using diplomatic courier and shipping the money out in three large silver boxes, using diplomatic immunity.

If you are interested I will send you the full details, my job is to find a good partner that we can trust and that will assist us. Can I trust you? When you receive this letter, kindly send me an e-mail signifying your interest including your most confidential telephone/fax numbers for
quick communication also your contact details. This business is risk free. The boxes can be shipped out in 48hrs.

    Respectfully,
    Major James Salinas.

    Wow!

    This one's a very popular Nigerian 419 scam e-mail.

First time you've received something like this?

Ultimately, these 'Saddam fortune' e-mails all originate in Nigeria. Sometimes they're 'from' British or Iraqi soldiers. Occasionally they're ostensibly from Saddam's ex bodyguards. But the general theme is the same. And they're all advance fee scams.

If you want to know exactly what to expect if you reply (as you apparently have), let me know. I've 'played' with these scammers quite a bit.

You'd be surprised how far you can go. See the games in 419 BAITER for some idea of what you can get away with.

Just MAKE SURE that you don't give the scammers any real personal information about yourself.

If someone created a " reality TV show " showing the torture, mutilation, and execution of spammers; I would go back to watching television!!

Well if he has your name address and mobile number that's a long way towards identity theft

Sorry I hate to give bad news but I'd rather say it than look the other way.
