New to linux
Hi every one I just wanted to say I'm new to new to Linux. and I do have Linux on my computer but at the moment I;m having a hard time doing some things with it. I have Debian, I've had Linux now for about a week it is hard to jump right in on Linux when you were a long time windows user. It takes some time to friguer it out I guess but I hope it all goes well and I can get this Linux thing down.

Hi Evildragon, welcome to Linux Forums
Linux can be quite tricky after switching from Windows but just remember that it requires a different way of thinking. The most common problems come from trying to do things like Windows does them.
The first month or so can be tricky but it wont take long to get used to. Just stick with it and you will get past the learning curve in no time at all

Well you can always bounce back and forth. I've done that for years, especially when Linux started to make my brain hurt
I just kept it on a partition and whenever I got bored and/or curious I'd boot into it and start poking around. Eventually I found myself booting into it more and more often. But I do tend to take things kind of slow.
Here lately it's been coming together in a major way though and I'm seriously considering ditching the Windows partition altogether. I never could have done that when I tried Linux for the first time -- it was just too daunting -- but as it stands now it feels like Linux is easier to use. It took some time though, but all the brain ache and frustration was worth it eventually.
So take your time and enjoy the ride. When the lights come on and you start figuring things out you'll be glad you did.
