Newby played with something bad (can not log on)

    Hi there,

In short my roommate altered our linux system so no one could right or copy to our linux mint system where we store mass data. Being the adventurous type i am, i went in all guns blazing, read all of three forum post and thought it would be a good idea to remove network settings and just reinstall them (something like sudo apt network purge tools remove). It was confirmed that the network tools were removed.

Upon start up I could not log back into the system. This is weird for two reasons. 1 we had it set to have no password, 2 the username and password did not work.

I further reset the pass word by going into recovery mode, edditing the kernel command, and making the username and passwrd in the core shell thingy. Now when i enter the username and password it just loops back to username, however when i enter the incorrect one it tells me. This suggests to me that maybe there is some type of super user thing happening here - but i have no idea.

If anyone can help you would be seen as god by all of our sharehouse.

    thanks for your time

Isn't there a rule against spamming?

Yes there is. Removed Spams and banned him.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
