Linux seems to be having trouble keeping up with the internet
Photobucket, MySpace, and Facebook all have uploaders to upload pictures to each site. However, all the new flash software and code that these sites are using do not mesh well with Linux. It gets old having to transport files to my Windows Lappy just to upload pictures to Photobucket.
huh... why can't Linux keep up with everything else?Using Linux since June 2007

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

I suppose it's because Facebook etc. are all so funky and happening that it's hard for *nix volunteers to keep up with that kind of restless corporate development model.
I would avoid Facebook if I were you, but if it makes you happy...I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. - Pablo Picasso

HAHAHAHAHAHA
Yeah, you should see my profile. I have nothing on it. My friends list consists of 10 friends and 200 bands that I keep up with.

Well that makes sense. The software changes so fast that experimental software is the only thing that would account for it.
*Sigh.... well that does make me feel better. Linux still rocks and corporations suck ass!
As for getting off those sites, it's just so convenient to have them. All my friends are on facebook. All my favorite bands and musicians don't even bother updating official web pages as frequently as they do their myspace pages. Were it not for facebook, I wouldn't know what was going on in 80% of my friends lives.

I do not respond to Private Messages asking for Linux help. Please, keep it on the public boards.

And so it begins...
Yeah, I prefer the pub too. At least you can see people face to face and if they've told you how incredibly witty and attractive they are, you can judge for yourself.
I think a lot of online friendships are just virtual, and have no real depth to them. Plus my opinions of the man who started Facebook are unprintable on this Forum.I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. - Pablo Picasso

You assume that Linux developers have anything at all to do with this. It is a fallacious assumption. The reason Flash for Linux is so far behind is that Adobe refuses to either update its Linux Flash software in a timely manner or release the client's source code so that those very Linux developers you seem so keen on berating could actually do what you want them to do.

Myspace has a picture uploader that isnt flash based as well. I upload from it all the time. And Moe has this one pegged.
ps my wife sometimes blames linux for her not being able to play games on this web site and I have a hard time explaining to her that its because the site uses ActiveX instead of flash and its actually Firefox that cannot work on that site.
