Greetings Forum. I am new to the forum, liked what I saw when visited and decided to Join. I am on the West Coast USA, and want to greet everyone. As a fairly new user to Linux, am learning along the way. At this time I have two concerns.
1. My Gateway M-6312 w/built in Wlan is not working. Linux sees it in the hardware manager perfectly, but somewhere (where it counts), it does not see it. I have tried lshw and it is not listed correctly. It is listed as a USB device. Under Gutsy Gibbon it was fine, but lost it in Hardy (har, har?..oooh).
2. I want to dual boot to XP as there are some programs that I absolutely must have and cannot run via WINE althought it is an excellent program.
So those are my burdens.
Good to be here and look forward to learning more about Linux. I have the laptop and a Dell desktop also on Hardy Heron, Linux is the absolute best out of all the OS's out there.
