    Goodbye George

Don't want to get morbid. Just want to honor the passing of one of my heroes. George Carlin was a positive entry in the ledger of experience on this dirtball. He will be missed. Goodbye George.

I've never been a fan of George C, but I was very sorry to hear of his passing.

He seemed very bitter and jaded late in life but there's no doubt his early stuff was very funny and insightful. I'm sorry to hear he died.

Even though I largely abhorred the so called "counter culture" of the 60's and 70's that George Carlin was considered part of, he did convey very interesting insights and did it in a humorous and intelligent way. For instance:
If lawyers are disbarred and clergymen defrocked, doesn't it follow that electricians can be delighted, musicians denoted?
I guess that's what happens when you blend genius with comedy. He gave us a lot of good laughs and will be missed as a truly gifted entertainer.

Most of George Carlin's material later in life (since I only came to this earth in the 1980s ) was too racy for my taste, but he did have some funny stuff from time to time. He made a wonderful dick of a cardinal in Kevin Smith's Dogma, however.

As a semi-old fogey, I will miss George Carlin, he taught me how to cuss like a sailor and he also taught me a lot about freedom of speech with his humor.
