Batman: The Dark Knight

It's been a very long time since I've been so eager to see the release of a new movie (since most new releases have been really poor lately), but The Dark Knight has me very excited and the trailer looks fantastic:

IMDb Video: The Dark Knight

This of course is also the last movie acted by the late Heath Ledger.

I personally liked Batman Begins better than any Batman movie I'd ever seen, so hopefully this one won't disappoint.

July 18th... can't wait!

I am going to be all over that when it comes out. I grew up loving Batman and I'd completely agree...Batman Begins was my favourite too. It was the closest yet to being believeable. I hear Scarecrow will be making an appearance in this one too alongside Two Face and of course the Joker. This should be great.

I haven't seen batman begins but the other movies didn't really do it for me. I grew up with the
only true "true" batman - Adam West

When Tim Burton's Batman films were released I thought they were the greatest films on the planet. Granted I was 10 when the first one was released but I do like Tim Burton anyway. I grew up on the Adam West Batman so it was a big change for me but it was still a welcome change, kind of felt like Batman was growing up with me.

If you don't mind taking recommendations I would definitely say check out Batman Begins. I was really shocked how much I took to it. It's pretty much based on Frank Miller's Batman reinvention so it's quite dark and includes his training in Asia which you might not have expected if you only saw the old Batman. It probably has more in common with the Warner Brother's animated series from the 90s than anything else.

I loved Batman Begins, and I'm greatly looking forward to The Dark Knight. I was also a fan of Batman: The Animated Series in the 90's. It was very dark for a kids show. I've always thought of Batman as more of a dark and brooding hero than the slapstick Adam West version. Don't even get me started on those abominations in the mid-90s.

Anyone happen to make it out to see it on opening night?

I'm curious about whether it's worth driving the 80 mile round-trip for me to go see it. That's an expensive movie outing when you add tickets and fuel prices for my gasoline guzzler into the mix.

I can't wait to see it. I'm catching it next Friday as it opens in Ireland next week. Really looking forward to it. Then I get to go see a Led Zeppelin tribute band which should keep me rocking until they finally announce some gigs.

Did you see they're putting on a teaser trailer for Terminator 4 before the Dark Knight? It's also starring Christian Bale. I'm pretty happy to trust in any films he works on, he seems to be quite discerning about his roles. I loved him in 3:10 to Yuma.

I liked Batman Begins, but was disappointed by some of the other Batman movies. My martial instructor did some stunts in Batman Begins.

I seldom get excited enough over a film to want to see it in a theatre. The Dark Knight is an exception. It's showing at the theatre here on the island, but I hate crowded theatres, so I'll probably catch tomorrow's matinee or wait til next weekend. Nice thing about digital projectors... no splices or artifacts if you catch a flick late in its' run.
