I'm sure many of you have heard the predictions of impending virii written for cell phones. Smartphones more specifically. I heard yet another prediction this afternoon which suggested that inside of 18 months, cell phone virii would be the biggest malware problem, worldwide. I'm wondering; do you think linux-powered cell phones will enjoy the same freedom from these pests as linux for i686, ppc, sparc, etc.? I wish I knew more about programming and the linux kernel. I would like to have a better understanding of issues like this that affect me in such a direct way. Mebbe this is a good time to break out that c++ book that's been occupying space in my bureau. What do you programmers here on the forum think about this issue? I'm really curious to know.
