I think I've got some windows files in my home folder.

When I first started using Linux on the Internet I put a CD into my home files that was meant for use in windows. Eventually Hazel helped me get it out.

Recently I am seeing those windows " flags " before icons and images take their place. I do not know if it is from my website or the CD pictures I have been putting in my home folder or from my importing my Opera bookmarks into my Firefox browser.

Is there a way for me to find out just what is going on?

Maybe you should take a screenshot for explaining because I really don't get what you are talking about

Hey now! Anything that can be fixed by a reinstall can be fixed by hand...it's just a matter of how much effort you're willing to make. Can you post a screenshot for us?

BigTomRodney, if I knew what I was doing on a computer you would be correct. I put my home files on some disks and reinstalled suse 10. When I went to transfer the files I found: rr_moved on two of the disks. Those are not my files so I did not re-install them.

The Opera crap that was messing up my Firefox browser is gone. I still have to go through the trouble of re-installing my bookmarks and trying to reduce the width of Firefox to fit my screen.

I appreciate your offer but I read it after I had re-installed.

    Cousinlucky,
I googled your rr_moved and it appears to be a file created by Rockridge, under certain conditions. Rockridge is an extension to the ISO 9660 file format specification. It allows some kind of POSIX standard conformity. I'm not really clear on what. (Sorry!) I wonder if it might not simply be a result of the Suse install from CD. Sounds possible.

The rr_moved file was hidden in my home folder files somewhere. Before I re-installed I copied the files from my home folder and placed them on three CD-R's the rr_moved files that were hidden in my home folder became visible on the CD's but I did not knowing put them there.

Instead of Opera I now use my Mozilla browser as my main browser. I may not know a lot about my computer but I know when it is not functioning the way I am used to it functioning. My computer needed to be " tidied up " anyway!!

I've learned some good things. First I did not really need all of the bookmarks that I had.
Second now that my website is a reality instead of a wish, hope, and a dream: I need to adjust my life and priorities. Third I did not have to take my computer to a shop for a hard drive reformat. Fourth Linux is the Greatest os!!
