Microsoft Corporation-Head winning claims dept ticket number 008795727498

This morning I found this email in the gmail account I set up to use with Host Gator. I did not open it or delete it

In the email there is an r with a circle around it between Microsoft and Corporation. which is a trademark symbol, I think.

Do internet scammers go that far?

Has anyone ever gotten an email like this?

I just found the same email in my MyWay email for my website!

Yeah I've gotten things like this alright, but I don't get spam anymore since I started using gmail. Some of the first spam I ever got claimed to be from Microsoft

Well I guess it took less than two weeks for these folks to pinpoint me after my putting up a website.

If you are using the webclient I always find it useful to use the report spam button when things do get through to you. It helps in the future with spam detection so shoul benefit you in the long run.

Tom, one of the things I really like about MyWay email is that I can block everything from a server. The Microsoft email was sent from @charter.net !!

Now nothing from there will reach my in box in MyWay.

I had to use one of my MyWay email accounts for the whois registry and that account gets 5 to 10 spams a week.
