Frapper won't work. It doesn't save anything I put in (using Firefox). I have an account there I think, but there's no info in it and I can't add any. Oh well. It looks like a cool idea though.

Anyway, I'm a brand new Linux girl. I discovered Linux from this oh-so-cute boy in my dance class. All the girls want to "borrow" him to show us a dance step or whatever. I asked to borrow the laptop he uses to teach the beginner's class with. I surfed the net a little, checked my e-mail, listened to some music, and did a little school work. When I gave Robin back his laptop I commented on how fast and simple it was, and that's when he told me it was Linux!

I was stunned! I had used Linux and didn't even know it. Robin's not a geeky boy at all, but he uses Linux??! And now I had used it too - a total non-geek like me had used Linux, effortlessly!

Well anyway when my Vista acted up for the last time I asked Robin about Linux, and he introduced me to Ubuntu. It's wonderfully simple and beautiful. Now I'm a Linux fangirl!

Love,
Amy

I'm sorry, teenytinylinuxgrl, this is not my job, but I suggest you move some of the content of this to:
http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/cof...ted-linux.html

I think that keeps you to the thread, this one is about where you live.
By the way, welcome to the forums.

Actually, "tell us a little about yourself" is part of the OP's instructions. But you know how we teenage girls are - we get carried away and can go on and on. I guess I did that a little. Sorry.

Oh! And I never did say where I live, lol! I'm in central Florida (USA).

As a 16 year old Dutch boy, yes, I know how teenage girls are, I have about 15 in my class! They do think I'm a geek though ... wonder why?

Code:
jmp start

msg db "This is actual programming code (assembler)", 0

printMsg:
        lodsb
        or al, al
        jz done
        mov ah, 0x0E
        int 0x10
        jmp printMsg

done:
        ret

start:
        mov	si, msg
        call printMsg
        cli
        hlt
But we have drifted of topic too much now, so I guess we should quit.

EDIT:
by the way, you don't have to put your name under every single post, screen names are there to hide your own name.

Howdy folks

Hi all

Living in Ontario Canada. (north of Toronto).
I discovered Linux in 2005 and enjoy "tinkering" with stuff, breaking the OS, then re installing, trying new Distros , window managers etc. (I'm not windows compatible he he)
currently running MEPIS 8 on just about everything but love to try new distros 'n' stuff
Read threads from this forum many times to learn Linux and solve problems, but decided to come out of the shadows so to speak and register.
