A link on how to open a file would be a nice thing to know. seems the simplest things are the hardest ones to find.

Hi,
hail from South Africa, am an absolute beginner and still getting terribly excited when and if something actually works...
Tried Xubuntu the weekend - and got it running parallel to XP. Now - that is quite an achievement for mine. Getting myself Ubuntu proper and do it all over again. You'll hear from me in due time for sure.
In the meantime - thanks for a comunity like this and all, who are prepared to help people like me.
