I am extremely new to programming. Of course I have also done some BASIC programming. I know only know the very basic stuff. It was necessary to learn binary numbers, hexadecimal numbers, and octal. My first and last formal education in programming was FORTRAN IV. Keypunch cards were still in use. Hand held calculators were over 100 dollars. The PC had not made its début. Tape drives and multilayer disc that appeared like thirty three and a third records were the in thing. Computers required specially conditioned rooms.

I actually made my living designing computer room air conditioning systems. At that time such air conditioning systems were the bread and butter of consulting firms.

In the mid-nineties I participated in the design and construction of a million square foot structure which contained six Cray supercomputers. As far as computers go seeing Cray supercomputers is my one claim to fame. All of the desk tops in building were connected to the Crays by fiber optics. As I said I could only look on in awe. None of the wizardry was my doing.

My expertise is in mechanical engineering. HVAC, plumbing, and electrical design and installation is what I know.
